Enhance Primary Food Handling with Hygienic Robots

Category: Article

Automation has become increasingly advanced at all stages in food production systems.* Since primary loading of raw or naked foods requires direct handling, hygienic robotic pick-and-place systems have become a popular solution. Read on to learn more about LinMot’s pick-and-place robots with gripper modules that enhance your food-safe packaging.

More Information

Sanitary Design Comes Standard

LinMot’s various linear pick-and-place robots with gripper modules are designed with stainless steel motor housings and mounting parts. This makes them highly adaptable and flexible for use in various environments, and therefore a suitable option for different types of food handling and packaging. Available in either IP69 or IP67S ratings, they are also dust-tight and can withstand either immersion or high-pressure water jet washdown as well as harsh, caustic chemicals.

Robust Options Further Enhance Food Safety

In addition to the standard design of LinMot’s pick-and-place robots with gripper modules, optional sanitary features are available. These include:

  • Guide rods are surface-hardened stainless steel
  • Guide with stainless linear ball bearings and food-grade lubricant (NSF H1)
  • Guide with plain FDA-approved polymer bearings
  • And more!

Gripper Keeps Your Products Food-Safe

Though pick-and-place solutions can be great for handling food, not all are adequately designed for ensuring their operational efficiency in various environments. LinMot pick-and-place robots with gripper modules come equipped with a hygienic gripper that operates at high speeds in various conditions and are easy to wash down. This makes them safe for handing food and allows you to achieve proper cycle times. And, while the materials of the gripper keep the product food safe, the gripper design is robust, which allows the robot to effectively distribute product.
